THE HISTORY BEHIND OUR OFFICE
The Oakwood Dental Arts NC office is one that is steeped in history. In 1950, M. G. Crouch Lumber Company completed construction of the dental office for Dr. G. Shuford Abernethy. Originally, the plan was for this office to one day become a home after Dr. Abernethy retired, but the building wasn’t done yet. Instead, the office was passed down to Dr. Eldridge who continued to give the Hickory community the dental care it needed.
To this day, these Crouch-built walls have continued to serve the people of Hickory to meet their dental needs. As the current dentist who has inherited this historic office, Dr. McKinney wants to continue to provide quality and thoughtful dental care to the people of Hickory. His love of dentistry and the history of this community make him the best suited successor to this historic location. We are excited to continue this tradition by providing Hickory with the most advanced dental treatments and services around.
